Kiss My Black Ads Interview + For Colored Girls…
June 28, 2010
Pretty awesome post at Kiss My Black Ads on me.
KMBA is a really great blog and I’m glad to be profiled there.
Craig, the creator of KMBA, also posted my For Colored Girls poster as did Shadow and Act.
We’re really trying to move these posters around in hopes of getting some attention and possibly some of that Tyler Perry money. (oww.)
No, but seriously. I kind of love these posters. It would be more than amazing to have them as the official posters for this film.

Film Poster I did for the upcoming adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s choreopoem “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow is Enuf”.
Another version:

The original painting is oil on canvas, 16×20 inches.
What I like most about this painting is the light and the negative space.
I had a friend pose for me. Took a few photos of her in different poses with different lighting. They all came out pretty well. I loved her expression in this one.
